Important information for Foreign Service providers
Under Danish law, it is compulsory for foreign companies to be registered in RUT (Register of Foreign Providers) when they provide temporary service to Aalborg University or for that matter elsewhere in Denmark.
The purpose of the registration is to provide different Danish authorities with information about foreign companies' activities so that these companies can be subject to supervision and control in relation to compliance with Danish rules in the same way as domestic companies.
The registration requirement applies to any company operating in Denmark.
The registration must be completed before the start of work.
Companies that work for Aalborg University must submit a confirmation of registration to the university.
If a company fails to register within 3 days after starting work Aalborg University will be obliged to report the company to the Danish Working Environment Authority – and the company then risk a fine of DKK 10,000.
NOTE: Some companies are exempt from registration. The exception applies to foreign companies that
- provide services that last in total less than 8 days
- AND provides their service as part of the delivery of technical facilities or a technical installation
- AND uses employees or self-employed persons specialized in or qualified to install, inspect, repair or inform about a technical facility or technical installation in Denmark.
