Indoor Climate and Room Temperature at Aalborg University
To balance the work environment, productivity, and energy efficiency, Aalborg University has set a room temperature of approximately 21 degrees. This decision was made in collaboration between the Rectorate and Campus Service as part of the university's strategy to ensure a proper indoor climate while supporting sustainable solutions.
Why approximately 21 degrees?
A room temperature of around 21 degrees is within standard indoor climate norms, helps reduce energy consumption, and contributes to AAU’s climate ambitions. Although temperature control is adjusted for most buildings, variations may occur depending on technical and physical conditions, so a variation of plus/minus about 1 degree can be expected.
What are we doing?
Campus Service is continuously working to optimize energy-saving installations and monitoring the indoor climate to ensure it meets both comfort and sustainability goals, as well as the applicable workplace regulations.
Having issues with the temperature?
If you experience issues with temperatures below 21 degrees, please feel free to contact Campus Service via our service portal “Building Support” from a PC or through the app. The link to Building Support is available here: www.bs.aau.dk
