Sustainability
Campus Service proposes tasks for AAU Mega Projects. We often enter into collaborations with students, who can use AAU as a living lab and write projects on current, concrete sustainability challenges. In this way they help to create knowledge for the world and an even more sustainable AAU.
We also participate in collaboration with other universities in Denmark, the Nordic countries and throughout Europe, where we share knowledge and learn from each other's experiences towards sustainable development. Campus Service contributes knowledge to annual international ranking studies that help show us how far we are with sustainability work in comparison with universities world wide.
In Campus Service, two initiatives in particular have attracted a lot of attention inside and outside the university:
- As the first university in Denmark, we converted our areas to Wild on purpose, to the great delight of students and staff at AAU, as well as, of course, animals and insects in the area.
- The creation of the Sustainable Campus Forum, where student and employee representatives have been given a forum to bring together all the many topics and ideas that affect the sustainable operation of the university.
